The EBC 4-Step Our New Discipleship Process
You know that EBC exists to “connect people to Christ”; but, we want to be certain that you know HOW we are called to make that connection. In the past we described HOW via 7 core values. They were comprehensive, but they were also hard to remember, then we introduced the 5 heartbeats. They flatlined because the language was too formal. During the Leadership Summit, we reduced and reinterpreted our discipleship process to 4 simple and memorable steps.
EBC Playbook
I am excited to report that since our last huddle, we have been working diligently to claim God’s Promises as ours in 2009. Please take some time to review the Playbook details and note our collective areas of progress. Though we have made significant strides, and momentum is on our side, there is still much work to be done. As I shared previously, our plan is aggressive and ambitious. However, I also know that with God, the victory is ours. Half of the season is nearly over and there is some key talent that is yet to join the team. Are you in?

EBC Old School :) Although the Core Values were hard to remember, many of us had our favorites, and lived by them devotedly. We move forward with the 4 Step, but parting from the Core Values will not be easy!
For nostalgia sake, here are the past Core Values of EBC. Which one was your favorite?
Christ-Centered: We believe that Jesus Christ, the highest and clearest revelation of God, is the ultimate point of reference for making personal and collective decisions. Mark 9:1-8
Biblically-Based: We believe that the Christian Scriptures are authoritative in all matters of belief and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16
Mission-Oriented: We believe that Christ has called and equipped us to minister to the needs of people, both within and beyond our congregation. Matthew 28:18-20
Culturally-Relevant: We believe that the gospel should be packaged in the cultural forms with which the “target audience” identifies. 1 Corinthians 9:19-23
Gift-Based: We believe that God has shaped each believer so as to fulfill His purpose for the Church and the world. Ephesians 4:1-17
Excellence in Ministry: We believe that God has called the Church to strive towards excellence in the ministry and mission. Malachi 1:4-6
Partnering Through Prayer: We believe God works change, personal and societal, through the prayers of believers. Acts 12:5-17
